Seven Sins Chocolate Cake
Not long ago I sampled a cake from a bakery that boasted seven forms of chocolate. "Seven Deadly Sins" they called it. It had two types of dark chocolate frosting, milk and white chocolate pastry cream, white chocolate curls... you get the idea.

Rice Krispie Treat Sprinkle Cake - Sprinkle Bakes is Four!
It's a very Happy Blog Birthday! Today I'm celebrating four years of blogging. Sometimes I look back at the work I've done over these past years and wonder - who did that? Did I really bake all those things? Did I really write a book? And am I really writing another one?

Rhubarb-Wrapped Pineapple Mousse Cake
Last summer I received a beautiful dessert magazine in the mail. It was titled Sweet Dreams, and the cover had a big glossy image of a cake on it. It was so striking, I couldn't wait to read every single page. I quickly found out it was written in German, so reading would have to wait for translation.

Raspberry-Champagne Layer Cake with Victorian Cake Pulls
Sometimes the gravity of how fast time passes hits me all at once. It knocks me flat. I find myself lying on the floor eye-to-eye with Churro-the-pug. "Did you have a good summer?" I ask. "Did you stop to smell the roses?"

Recently I've been working my way through a host of poured fondant recipes in hopes of finding one that is easy and not so messy.

Pumpkin: Rolls and Shortages
Have you heard about the Great Canned Pumpkin Shortage of 2009? If you are a baker, perhaps you have. I noticed this in October. I explained to loved ones "No pumpkin - it just wasn't there!" and was met with a suspect "...maybe you were in the wrong aisle?"

Pumpkin Bavarian Crepe Cake
I just love a good Bavarian cream. Remember this cake I made two years ago? Yeah. That's still one of my favorite recipes of all time. I usually make a molded white chocolate Bavarian each year at Christmastime, but I'd never considered making one during autumn months.
