While flipping through my most recent Bon Apetit magazine I audibly gasped when I came upon Molly Wizenberg's article on British Flapjacks. This is an epic chocolate cake. There is no other way to describe it. Hidden inside it are three super moist layers of rich dark chocolate cake, and three types of chocolate ganache. And don't forget the macarons on top with the same three ganache(s?).
Baklava is one of the first desserts that I can remember eating. Every Christmas my dad would order heaps and mountains of desserts from various food catalogs, and the one that went the quickest was always the Baklava.
Three years ago I wrote a post about my first visit to Chelsea Market in NYC, and my older brother ordered this legendary Apple Pie Milkshake at the Ronnybrook Dairy Bar. I don't remember what I ordered, but of course I have no trouble remembering what he ordered!
These little Baby Cakes were a real treat! So cute to boot! Delicious, moist, tender, perfect consistency, burst of sweetness and goodness. Pure ingredients and free of gluten and dairy and eggs. Wow! Years ago, I never would have thought how you could omit these and really make something better and better-for-you.
