A creamy, slightly tart lemon filling fills a rich coconut crust, all topped off with fresh sweet berries! This is most definitely going to be my dessert of the summer for pinics, potlucks, and any other sort of occasion for that matter!
Hello from Minneapolis! I'm in town with King Arthur Flour's Bake For Good Tour. Yesterday, Susan taught us how to bake yeasted bread and pies (my first pie ever!) in the culinary classrooms at the art institute. The scales and measuring cups reminded me of my college chemistry classes.
It's popsicle week... Just in time to combat the 6,000 degree weather here in Hotlanta.. Let me tell you.. Popsicle molds and my freezer are like Solange and Jay-Z. I'll put the molds in the freezer thinking it's all good, but as soon as the door closes my freezers jack-up settings go all crazy on the molds and only freeze them to this slush like state that really ain't that cute..
I have spicy, fruity, cantaloupe-y, cucumber-y, popsicle-y, pops for you! But, first, let's get to the obvious. As you can see, things look a little different around here. We are still working on (and by we, I mean mostly Sean) the new site design.
We're almost there... Only a few more weeks until summer vacation. Kids are out, schedules slow down, vacations are to be had, and beaches are to be enjoyed. Yeah right! My schedule never slows down. But hopefully you are in final countdown mode and are looking forward to all things warmer weather and longer days are bringing.
There's something sort of special about pomegranates, right? I think so. The first time you peel back that hard, ruby red shell and find all those little seeds inside is sort of a whole experience. It's like alien fruit! (In a good way.) And then comes the inevitable google search on how to easily remove the seeds.
Remember when I went and got debaucherous with profiteroles by flipping it to a Snickers Profiterole mess, well I couldn't help but mix things up a bit with the classic cannoli. Notice anything about those cannoli cookies? Look close, because those are not the traditional cannoli cookie.
Okay, so here's the situation... I was not actually ever going to post this. I had all these photos in my iPhoto album titled "Dumb" where I keep all my second rate photos.
