Day one - Strawberry and Banana Ice Cream This week, I'm playing with one of my favorite treats - chocolate covered fruit. I think that chocolate covered bananas and strawberries are perfectly simple and amazing. I am making all of the recipes from the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and Desserts Book.
New early morning plan: coffee ice cream. Who needs a cup? Scoop it into a cone and go about your day. Or wait! Better yet? Just scoop it into your cup. Or blend it into your iced coffee with coffee ice cubes. This all sounds divine and I want to do every single idea five minutes ago.
I'm sure it's a bit bizarre to see ice cream recipes popping up during the winter months, but when you are lucky enough to receive the KA ice cream maker attachment for Christmas, there really isn't an alternative to churning out new ice cream recipes!
It's Easter week! Depending on how early or late the holiday falls, it usually means I'm either still buried under blankets and half-hibernated, or I'm throwing open the windows and ushering in spring with open arms. We've had some fantastic weather here in Pittsburgh the last few days, which definitely calls for the latter.
Last weekend, as I was making banana soft serve, the idea struck me to use it as a base for a popsicle. Instead of a typical icy, fruit-based popsicle, I wanted a popsicle with an ice-cream like taste and texture. A bit similar to these fruity popsicles, but more ice cream like.

Especially these beautiful and delicious Strawberry Mojito Popsicles. I made mine with addition of rum, so they have a real "mojito" taste, but if you want to made them non-alcoholic, the rum can be easily omitted.
Calling anything 'Ultimate' is a bold statement to stay the least! But... I feel like I can indulge this seemingly arrogant statement because the secret to this whipped cream wasn't my idea. Since the genius came from another, I feel like I can tell you without a doubt that this whipped cream is most definitely the best whipped cream!
Who invented milkshakes? I can't decide if I think they were a genius or an EVIL genius. Don't get me wrong, I love that you can use ice cream as a base to create all kinds of variations and tasty treats, but, I mean, it's basically easier to eat ice cream, right?
Chocolate Coffee Stout Ice Cream Since Saint Patrick's Day is near, there are a lot of recipes floating around for chocolate stout ice cream. I'm sure they're all delicious, but I really only like Guinness when it's in cake.
Tropical Sorbet Terrine Cooking View Okay, so this isn't technically ice cream, but sorbet is a close enough relative that I think it still deserves some attention during ice cream month. It's nice to have an option for anyone restricting dairy in their diet for any reason.
