It's February 29th! Happy Leap Year! Let's celebrate this once-every-four year occurrence with a giant donut cake. I bought these cake pans at Williams-Sonoma a few years ago and decided to finally put them to use. I'm not sure if WS still sells the pan, but if they don't, I bet you could find one...
Well, Christmas is over, the house is again empty, and I have a bit of the blues. This is usual for when all the kids scatter to their separate states(well, one out of the three states is ours, and they live 1/2 hour away, thank goodness), and I reflect on the expectations that I didn't bring to pass.
Mini Powdered Sugar Donut Muffins. - Sallys Baking Addiction
Mini muffins that taste like powdered sugar donuts. Baked, not fried! After taking last weekend off, it felt really good being in the kitchen today. I actually missed dirty dishes. Ha! Yeah right. What was first on the menu? Why, donuts of course! Oh and cupcakes. More on those later.
Funfetti Buttercreams & a Video! - Sallys Baking Addiction
Creamy chocolate candies overloaded with sprinkles. Soooo you know they're awesome. Remember these adorable pink and green candy sugar cookies? Well, I made yet another recipe to celebrate Sally's Candy Addiction's big release. The book will be here in only a few short weeks!
Tender and moist homemade vanilla almond cupcakes topped with creamy white chocolate frosting. A truly elegant treat for the most special day. Today is our wedding day. The day my father will walk me down the aisle towards the new life ahead of me.
Soft Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls filled with a gooey cinnamon swirl and topped with maple cream cheese icing. I have gotten so many requests for pumpkin cinnamon rolls this year. I just love the way you all think. Pure geniuses, I tell ya.
I had my first bake sale this past weekend. Reader Maggie (hi Maggie!) from the Hillyer Art Space in DC approached me this summer and asked that I bring and sell a few baked goods to their art showing.
White Chocolate Cranberry Pistachio Cookies. - Sallys Baking Addiction
These incredibly soft and buttery, salty and sweet white chocolate cranberry pistachio cookies will be your new favorite. There is so much texture in every bite of these holiday cookies! These cookies are a texture lover's paradise. Between the soft dough, crunchy pistachios, and chewy dried cranberries- I could eat these salty sweet cookies for the rest of my life and be content.
Like a pumpkin bar with cream cheese frosting, only better. Seriously. I craved a pumpkin bar with cream cheese frosting. It hit me like a ton of bricks and, ironically, this craving struck me right after a 5 mile run. So I didn't feel quite as guilty adding 2 sticks of butter to the mixing bowl.
These flavorful and moist pumpkin oatmeal cookies are super soft without being cakey. Truly one of my favorite ways to enjoy the fall! Your weekly daily dose of pumpkin is here. And you might want to listen up. This recipe is one of the best. You're aware of my cakey pumpkin cookie problem, right?
The Great Pumpkin Pie Recipe. - Sallys Baking Addiction
Bursting with flavor, this pumpkin pie recipe is my very favorite. It's rich, smooth, thick, and tastes incredible on my homemade pie crust and served with whipped cream. Pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin bread, but HELLO what about pumpkin pie?? My Great Pumpkin Pie Recipe. Is Here.
Instead of pumpkin pie this season, try my pumpkin streusel bars. With a gingersnap crust and brown sugar streusel topping, everyone will want seconds. Pumpkin season is in full swing and while I have yet to bake a traditional pumpkin pie this season, I've made enough cupcakes to clean my grocery store's pumpkin supply out.
Moist chocolate donut holes, baked not fried, and thickly covered in a sweet glaze. Happy Friday! Breakfast is served. I love everything about donuts (doughnuts, donuts whatever). Fluffy, light, sugary, airy, doughy, sweet, GLAZE. So much glaze. While jelly donuts have been and will always be my favorite variety, I have a huge soft spot for glazed chocolate.
This simple recipe makes 1 Giant Oatmeal Creme Pie - like an old-fashioned Little Debbie, but bigger and better! Tell me about your Super Bowl weekend! Whatcha eat? Kevin's sister, brother-in-law, and niece were in town and we went out to a fancy Italian dinner on Saturday and had quite the indulgent brunch on Sunday.
Glazed Apple Bundt Cake. - Sallys Baking Addiction
Tender and moist homemade apple bundt cake smothered in a buttery brown sugar glaze. My favorite cake for the crisp fall weather. I love old-fashioned desserts. The kinds of desserts grandmas make so well - often memorized in their heads. Like buttery caramel corn, banana bread, and deep dish apple pie.

Spiced Apple Cider Donut Holes. - Sallys Baking Addiction
Use this recipe to make donut holes or donuts. Super-moist, soft, and perfectly apple cider flavored for cozy fall mornings! Let's talk about my day for a second. We were supposed to have our engagement photos today, but were rained out. It's all good, I had cookies to bake.
Angel Food Cake seems like a nice, light alternative to what I've just been through. Traveling, cold weather, heavy drinking, even HEAVIER eating, sleepless nights, superbowl gambling.......talk about indulgence overload! The party is over, and after a 10 hour night of sleep last night, I'm feeling bright, shiny, and ready to jump back into my routine.
